Some Common Question about Traditional Notary

Nevada permits a maximum travel fee rate of $15 per hour ($10 per hour for an electronic notarization) for travel between the hours of 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. or $30 per hour ($25 per hour for an electronic notarization) for travel between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The Nevada Notary may charge a minimum of two hours for such travel

To get a notary, you can follow these general steps:

1. Determine your notary needs: Consider what documents you need notarized, how many pages they have, and whether you require a traditional notary or a traveling/mobile notary.

2. Find a notary: You can find a notary by checking your local phone book, searching online directories or using mobile notary services. You can also check with banks, law offices, shipping stores or other businesses that offer notary services.

3. Schedule an appointment: Once you have found a notary, contact them to schedule an appointment at a convenient time and location. If you need a traveling notary, discuss the location and any additional fees for their mobile service.

4. Bring your documents: When meeting with the notary, bring the documents that need to be notarized and a valid government-issued identification such as a driver's license or passport.

5. Sign the documents: The notary will verify your identity, witness your signature, and stamp or seal the document to confirm that it has been notarized.

6. Pay the notary fees: You will need to pay the notary fees for their services, which can vary depending on your location, the type of document, and whether you need a traveling notary.

7. Keep the original documents: After the notary has completed the notarization, keep the original documents in a safe place and provide copies to any parties that require them.

To get a notarized letter, follow these steps:

1. Write the letter: Draft the letter you need to have notarized, making sure to include all relevant information and details.

2. Find a notary public: Look for a notary public in your area. You can find one at your local bank, post office, courthouse, or online. Make sure to call ahead to confirm availability and any fees that may be charged.

3. Bring identification: When you meet with the notary public, bring a valid form of identification such as a driver's license or passport.

4. Sign the letter in front of the notary: Once you're ready to have the letter notarized, sign it in front of the notary. The notary will verify your identity and witness your signature.

5. Have the notary sign and stamp the letter: After you've signed the letter, the notary will sign and stamp it with their official seal, certifying that the signature is authentic, and the document is legally binding.

6. Make copies: Make copies of the notarized letter for your own records and any other parties that may need them.
